I agree. Also, for those of us *of a certain age*, there are precious few movies and fewer musical groups with whom we identify.
I have just not been interested in supporting either industry for a long time, now. It isn't just the outspoken stars, it is the industry as a whole that can leverage media time and subtly inject political content into everything from ads to movies to songs to bogus award and recognition media events. Many *made for TV* movies, for example, are commissioned to present an ideological POV. There are more rewarding ways to spend my dollars and my time.
Just as I would not participate in my own abuse in my private life, there is no need,IMO,to enable those in public life who wish to remove my freedoms or to inculcate me with their ideology.
Just say NO.
