"Her concern about ballooning deficits has made her very comfortable with a $350 billion tax cut," Mr. Lackey said.Really? Well, Mr. Lackey (an appropriate name if there ever was one), how much spending has Mz. Snowe sponsored and/or approved?
Or does Mz. Snowe even realize that government spending also plays a part in creating a deficit?

Interesting... I'm right in the middle of a huge argument with a "moderate" Republican friend in Maine. He's outraged at the Club for Growth's ads.
Amazing... He likes her because she attended some local meeting in Portland and EVEN SENT HIM A LETTER regarding the harvesting of lobsters. He then explained to me that Mainers are a "different" lot, in that they expect their reps to be contrary at times, like Margaret Chase Smith - their idol.
I'm furious. And SO tempted to write him back with a sarcastic remark about his belief that lobsters are more important than reducing taxes!

The Republican Main Street Partnership and the Service Employees International Union are running $42,000 worth of television ads thanking Mrs. Snowe, Maine Republican, for insisting Senate Republican leaders limit the eventual tax cut to $350 billion.Bring on the $726 billion tax cut! This broad apparently doesn't mind funding the current police state.

Is it possible to elect a conservative Republican in Maine? I wonder.

Hey, W should just ask for a trillion and he'd get a $750 million cut!

When will Snowe and maybe Chaffee switch to Independent and give control back to the Dems? Do we get what we can in tax breaks now and go for more later on, or do we risk everything and start blaming each other?
