May 5 issue — As Scott Peterson sits in a Modesto, Calif., jail facing a death-penalty case for murdering his wife, Laci, and their unborn child, he can ponder that old adage, hell hath no fury... Bad enough that the other woman in Peterson’s life, massage therapist Amber Frey, informed police after Laci went missing Christmas Eve that she was having an affair with Scott. Now, a private investigator close to the Frey family says Frey was taping her phone calls with Scott in the weeks after Laci’s disappearance to help police build their case. Frey could not be reached for comment.

Maybe I missed it, but I haven't heard if any DNA tests have proved that the baby is indeed that of Scott. I have heard that there has been a DNA that showed that the baby was Laci's.

I am totally perplexed how anyone can murder a pregnant woman in the last month of her pregnancy! I anxiously await the mountain of reported evidence that the police have in their possession.

POINT ISABEL -- Weeks before the remains of Modesto's Laci Peterson and her unborn son, Connor, washed up on the Richmond shoreline, investigators say they had found her watery grave through side-scan sonar that penetrated the inky darkness inside a Chevron shipping channel.
But before they could retrieve the bodies, they believe a heavily laden tanker passed over or near the burial spot, churning up the channel's bottom and dislodging the sunken corpses.

The wind, choppy waves and high incoming tides influenced by the full moon -- as well as gases from the deteriorating remains -- combined to eventually bring the bodies to shore.

Sources say the original grave site was miles away from where the only suspect in the case, Laci's husband, Scott Peterson, told police he had gone fishing Christmas Eve. That was the day Laci, eight months pregnant, was reported missing, triggering a search that caught national attention.....snip....

I think they are sick-minded people. The type of women who fall in love with these sociopaths remind me in some ways of the human shield, Rachel Corey, who was run over by a tractor in an Israeli war zone. Some kind of deep-seated, self-hatred seems to be at work in these women--as well as a need to be the beloved savior.

I heard about this maybe 2 weeks ago...wish I could find the source where I read it. It had something to do with a helicopter (I believe) that spotted a supposed body, but when they went back, it was gone. It had to do with some type of storm or something. Thanks for the link.

I distinctly remember hearing, at the first press conference after Lacy and Connor's bodies were found, that the baby's DNA proved that Lacy was the mother and Scott was the father.

They said that they started with DNA samples from Lacy's parents, and used them to prove that the Rocca's were the parents of the body that washed up. That proved that they had indeed found Lacy. They then used the DNA recovered from the body along with DNA from Scott to determine that the baby was Connor.

Further, they stated that they were looking for statistical probability in the thousands in order for the result to be conclusive that the baby was Lacy and Scott's, but what they ended up showing was much better -- the statistical probability was one in more than one BILLION.

There is no doubt who the parents of that baby are.

The entire SF Bay is saltwater. They traveled about 2 - 3 miles to the shoreline. They washed up from the Bay.

Only dumb people don't ask questions and therefore remain ignorant - you did the smart thing.

How long did it take OJ to go to trial, from the time the murders were discovered?
