Hi Nan! Things are just beautiful in Georgia. My iris', rhodendrons and wisteria are on the verge of popping open. May have to take some pictures to share.
Did you ever get the wisteria plant that you were coveting last year?
To: Aquamarine
rhododendrons!
To: Aquamarine
Never did. Don't really think they will survive this far north. They seem inclined for more temperate climates. But things are beautiful here in WV too.

Parts of WV are heartland, but the larger part is wall to wall mountains.

"rhododendrons!" My dear Nan - the Blue Ridge Parkway is NOTED for its rhododendrons!!
Huge ones - old ones - and your winter can't be worse than theirs at those altitudes!!
Will try to find some photographs of them soon.

(probably not TOO far from the truth) <|:)~
To: WVNan
That is an OUTSTANDING picture!
I vaguely remember being at some house party on a huge lake somewhere near Morgantown WV ... the house had a view of the lake something like that (partially obscured by trees, fog) BEAUTIFUL!
To: LadyX
Dear Sistah, we were talking about wisteria. Geez, I know Rhodadendrons. I think it's the state flower of WV.

I took some photographs of Black Mountain, NC that are like that one, Nan. Very dramatic!
It happens to be a Christian resort area, and it's where my mother and father met the summer of 1922, just after she graduated from college, and he was an engineer putting in some of the original power lines in the area.
He went back to Florida - she taught school the next year - 1st and 2nd grades in one class - then the next year they eloped after school was out, marrying in Charleston in a church there her father had when she was a teen!
The highway to Florida was a narrow two-lane crushed shell road, all the way to the Orlando area!
