For 18 years, Jerome Berlin, a nationally known Democratic fundraiser, and Michael Pecora, a former temple caterer, worked together to build two of the largest banquet centers in South Florida.
On Tuesday, in the executive office of one of those halls, with 800 schoolchildren in a ballroom only one floor below them, Pecora shot and killed Berlin and then turned the gun on himself.
Berlin and Pecora were heard arguing loudly in the second-floor office of the Signature Grand in Davie when three gunshots rang out after 11 a.m.

The other articles I saw on this didn't mention which one was the shooter and which one was the shootee.

Hialeah Mayor Raul Martinez said it was ironic Berlin's life would end violently because he was known for settling issues through consensus and negotiations. Gary Barron, a South Florida businessman and close friend of Berlin, described him as "a team-builder, a consensus kind of fellow," and "a decent, good man who always had a smile on his face. Just goes to show you: If you keep all that frustration inside, like a good little conflict resolutioner should, eventually you gotta let it out. It all gets bottled up inside and has to come out in one big rush. Maybe this has something to do with the increase in violence in children. They are never allowed to express their feelings of anger and frustration. Soon, it all boils over inside.
Children should have an outlet for their feelings. Not be forced to bottle them inside till they burst. If you can't stand someone on the playground you should be allowed to say so. Not "learn to like their differences".
Oh, I forgot we're not talking about children, except they were liberals.... I'm confused now.

Impossible. Democrats don't own guns, don't know how to use guns, believe no one should own a gun and ALWAYS set a good example for the Chiiiildrun.
Thanks for posting this.

There is a story behind the story that does not appear here. The most likely option is that the murdered man was having an affair with the killer's wife, and fired her when he ended the affair. There are other, less likely alternatives such as financial shenanigans. But the bottom of the story has not been reached -- and may not be reached since it would be so embarrassing to this "stalwart Democrat fund-raiser." We shall see -- maybe. There has to be a motive here. The question is whether the motive will be reported.
