North Korea said on Wednesday US hostility had compelled it to opt for "a necessary deterrent force" and that it had put the need into effect.
The statement by a foreign ministry spokesman was seen as a further indication that the Stalinist state possessed nuclear weapons.
It was carried by the Korean Central News Agency and followed a dispatch earlier by the official agency urging the United States to "scrap its nuclear program before such a small country as the DPRK (North Korea) does."

The reason we have moral authority to keep our nukes is because we will only use them if attacked with WMD. N. Korea, in its rhetoric (as well as some Chinese govt officials), has threatened to take us out with nukes as we rattle our conventional weapons saber.
They arent to be trusted and the world knows it.

Fact of the matter is: we don't need nukes to take out pee-wee and his hordes.
The whole "line of reasoning" expressed in this article is an insult to logic and the usual pathetic nonsense the gangster Kim regime throws out in a vain attempt to convince the pathologically and terminally stupid. We accuse them of having nukes and tell them to give them up (this is the confrontation they speak of -- the one where their problem is they don't want to give up the nukes); so they say, because we pushed them into a corner over this issue, they've developed nukes. It is really sad how stupid some people are in this world, to give any kind of credibility to these losers. They have absolutely no credulity whatsoever. It's like somebody chasing you into your house with a knife; you grapple at the door to shut it, and, finally win, forcing the door closed. You hearing cursing, mumbling, and kicking the door outside. Twelve seconds later, you hear a knock on the door; you answer cautiously, "yes?"; "Pizza man!" And South Korea opens the door asking, "How much do I owe you?"
