Geraldo Rivera Rants About Media Critics
Reporter Lashes Out At Networks On Web Site
Posted: 12:17 p.m. EDT April 30, 2003
Fox News correspondent Geraldo Rivera is still filled with "smoldering anger" from the way the media reported on him being asked to leave Iraq for drawing troop movements in the sand.
Rivera wrote on his Web site, roughpoint.tv, that the media stories were a "grotesque exaggeration."
He especially blames MSNBC, who he says conducted a "Get Geraldo" campaign. He seems to go after Joe Scarborough and Keith Olbermann, though he doesn't mention them by name.
He wrote that MSNBC used a "neo-Nazi ex-Congressman and a psycho ex-sportscaster as their hatchet men."
Rivera said his career is "far more distinguished" than theirs.
TOPICS: Front Page News
KEYWORDS: critics; geraldorivera; media; rants; warcorrespondent
The media is about as camera-coveting as Hollywood (almost).

That I'm sure would depend on what the meaning of "is" is.

Doesn't this sound like a case of "what goes around comes around"?

Rivera said his career is "far more distinguished" than theirs. Did he mean to say "extinguished?"

Well ... it didn't sound like sarcasm to me ... and I do believe placing [sarcasm] would have solved that problem. Just a thought !!

"Poor Geraldo. The world has moved on and he can hardly bear it."
. . .well, it is his name they are making 'mud' with.
No big fan of Geraldo, but do think he was held up unfairly in their attempts to draw a moral equivalency of the bad judgement he made and that of Arnett's anti-American, if not treasonouos reportage.
The Lib Media wanted Geraldo and Fox News to look as bad as Arnett and NBC.
. . .Geraldo made a mistake in judgement; Arnett appeared as a purposeful traitor.
