Maybe it's just the conservative engineer side of me, but I'm not too thrilled to learn of this method of arrival. An arrested landing isn't like greasing AF-1 on to a 14,000 Ft. runway. There's not a less than inconsidrable risk. I'm sure every thing will be fine, but he's too valuable to expose himself like that.

Before I get flammed for being a wuss, consider what might happen if there is an accident. W has a bunch of unfinished business. I'd rather have a live hero than a martyr.

a number of planes were already flown back to Miramar this morning. Also recall Bush was a pilot in the Air National Guard ... I think this is totally AWESOME. I hope Tommy Daschole has a new pair of Senator Leahy's DEPENDS on tomorrow night!

I'm not sure, but I think that the war is over once the instruments of surrender are signed by the combatants, not just when someone "declares victory". Also, there was no formal declaration of war on either side. Operations cease when GWB says they do, not otherwise.

Can someone help me out on this?
