How long before we get one from NY to Chicago to LA?
The only problem I can see is the passengers talking funny.

Cool. But why has this taken so long? Is it just the distance????I would think that a locked track system with a rocket could get going reaaaal fast.

Now, if they could get the trains to go that fast, I'd truly be impressed.

Lt. Col. James "J.J." Jolliffe, 846th Test Squadron commander, said the sled hit its target with energy equal to a car hitting a wall at 2,020 mph. I guess theyre illustrating the force with which the sled hit the target, and not that the sled HIT the target which is what I originally thought.
Because if your sled misses the target, on tracks, at 6400 mph, Id say you have a little problem.

I bought NEW a "64 1/2 Mustang which I thought, and those which I "raced", that I was going just about that fast.

meeep meeep !!! ;-)Yep.
Thirteen rocket motors propelled the sled during the test, including two stages of single Super Roadrunner motors designed specifically for this mission.

This is really an astonishing story. The biggest surprise is the time since we set the previous record. Nobody pay any attention to me here ... but I predict this is only the first of a series of record breakers, many of which we will not be advertising...
I sure would love to be involved in this program ... hmmm...
