Based on past conduct, I think we can easily blame Senator Clinton for the theft. She is always stealing things.

Similar complaint:

Mr. T's Best Buy Brouhaha

Such are the allegations pitted against electronics chain Best Buy which is being sued by the erstwhile A-Team enforcer-turned-1-800-Collect pitchman for misappropriating his image in a print ad, reports the Associated Press.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses the big box outlet of diminishing the value of a "unique persona that [Mr. T] developed for [more than] 20 years and is of great economic value to him."...............

Rest of story....Mr. T's Best Buy Brouhaha

Sounds like they're hoping the "little guy" will go away

That is what I think too. Nope, we aren't going...

There Were allowed to get away with it in the past..and you are one of those suffering the consequences.

I think that is probably true.

"The State of NY did spend some signifigant time at our website though. "

Probably to look for copyright or other info to see if you could sue them. I'm certain that could could sue them though. You probably wouldn't even have to go to court.. just get a lawyer to talk to their lawyers and you'd likely get an out of court settlement and no more using your balloon in their ads. I'm not a lawyer though so I may be wrong.

Good comparison. We are hired as "talent" wherever we go.

No the ballon does not have a flag on it. It is a likeness of the flag. It is a Hot Air Balloon designed to LOOK like the American Flag. It is not the flag. If you will look at it you will find that it is a giant box made out of a special material and designed to resemble the flag. The shape alone negates it being classified as a flag.

If you have four attorneys saying you have a solid case, I'd certainly ask one of them to convey that fact to the government agency that appropriated your work.

They can hardly claim they gave you guys free advertising, since they neglected to mention that you own and operate the balloon they so prominently featured.

I still don't want to get lawyers involved. I would prefer that they talk to us.

I hope so too, but it's amazing how much more impact the same words seem to have when they're printed on legal stationary...
