Quote:

"I have been amazed by the label of conspiracy-mongering around neocons," David Brooks, an editor at the Weekly Standard, tells the Observer. "I get it every day — the 'evil Jewish conspiracy.' The only distinction between 'neoconservative' and 'conservative' this way is circumcision. We actually started to call it the Axis of Circumcision."

Blame the cranks bottom-feeding in the fever swamps of paleo-conservatism.

If not for conspiracy-theory nitwittery they would have no purpose in life.

"The term, however, is disingenuously bandied about at dinner tables and policy meetings in London and Paris and elsewhere, where it is colorfully coded to suggest a Jewish conspiracy working on the White House. "

May this truth be called out for exactly what it is = anti-semitism.

Hmm. I was a liberal at 14... Does that make me a neo-con? :P

I'm just sick of the improper use of the word. So whenever and wherever I see it, I post the proper meaning from the dictionary. You might fit the bill, but I don't know if 14-yeaer-olds count. (G)

It seems to me that ANYTIME the world goes after the Jews (read Evangelicals, too) the world goes closer to self destruction. Just EXACTLY WHAT are the Jews guilty of doing? And us Christians? (And don't give me the Crusades BS).

Just an addition to dictionary.

Neo-con - A liberal one-world chickenhawk posing as a conservative.

The exact point Walker Percy made in his last novel, "The Thanatos Syndrome." Percy also made the point that it was just unlucky to persecute Jews. Look at what happened to the Nazis. Jews are God's chosen people (but as Teviav (sp?) said, "why can't You choose someone else occasionally?")

I promise that I won't give you the crusades bs. But only because those who perpetrated the crusades were "Christians" in name only.

As for the rest of your comments, they are spot on. Those who hate Christians and Jews are tools in the hands of Satan - just as much as those who do evil in the name of Judaism or Christianity.

But that's just Jewish humor ala Rodney Dangerfield (and to a more morbid sense, Lenny Bruce).

But "paleocon" should not be a term of opprobrium. To me, it's always been "the" conservative movement -- Buckley's National Review, the Goldwater movement, Reagan (who was conservative long before the neo-cons awoke from 60s liberalism). And those are all good guys. If the "old" version of conservatism is getting a bad name, we have a severe semantic problem.

The Crusades weren't "perpetrated", they were Europe's reaction to Islamic expansionism.

Don't forget, until it was overrun by the Muslims the Holy Land was in large part Christian.

Furthermore, Europe itself was in danger of being overrun.

When it comes to the Crusades, the West has no need to apologize.

If people want to label me a "neocon" I'd wear that label proudly. Neocons are people who reacted to 9/11 with horror, and a resolve that it never happen again.

On the other hand, it seemed to me that paleocons were people who reacted to the atrocity with almost a sense of cheerfulness, a "we had it coming" smugness--again, I point to Justin Raimondo's posts here that afternoon.

100% Aryan here, by the way.

Delighted to see your good comments about Walker Percy. He's great.

Per the chosen people: some wag once penned this bit of doggerel:

How odd
Of God
To choose
The Jews

Presently an even more economical bit of doggerel replied

Goyim
Annoy 'im

:-)

I knew that the author was going to accuse anyone who dared used this word of being a Jew hater. He is yet another Al Sharpton of the right getting in the gutter because he sees a racist...err anti-semite....under every bed.

Neo-con - A liberal one-world chickenhawk posing as a conservative.

Paleo-con - A former KKK and current anti-semite posing as a super patriot.

I am sick of Al Sharpton conservatives accusing anyone who dares disagree with them of being an anti-semite.

Too late...

Neocons: Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Bill Kristol

Paleocons: Buchanan, Ron Paul, Taki Theocrap, David Duke
