Anybody out there see Anger Management yet? Is it really as funny as Al Gore claims?

Yes, it was very funny -- especially the short scene filmed around the block from me. And I wound up as a blur in that scene. :)

My family walked out of the movie. It was a mix of childish bathroom humor and vulgar sex jokes -- even about children. I thought it was appalling. But go to screenit.com and check out the details for yourself. Being rated PG-13 and having watched cute previews, I failed to check the details before I went. Bad move.

I thought it was appalling. I guess it's all a matter of perspective. Some folks even got offended by Chicago so I guess there is something in every movie to offend somebody out there.

I rank it as one of the 3 worst movies I have ever seen (and it had to beat out Istar for this honor).

PG-13 = R. Another thing that slid toward the gutter under Clinton, the movie rating system.

So this means you didn't like it? That's a fair conclusion.
Bad acting. Lame humor (and normally my standards are prettly low in this department, but this movie managed to insult even these low standards--the humor just didn't work). Poor plot.

Bad, bad, bad movie. Without the male organ as the main character it would have no plot. Teenage boys of the liberal kind would find it hilarious.
I most assuredly DID NOT!

It wasn't funny, and it was offensive. Hey, I think Jack Nicholas is usually great, but this movie was too stupid. If you don't mind lame bathroom humor (middle school level), gay humor(lesbian porn girls make-out, transexual gay male stuff), and sex jokes on young kids (a young kid gets his pants pulled down in public and is laughed at for having a small penis -- not funny), then maybe you will like it.

Since P.J. LOVES Howard Stern, I think this will be a "must see" for him (sorry P.J, couldn't resist!).

Yeah, he just might like it then. I don't find Howard funny either. I like a little talent with my humor.

Jack Nicholas = Jack Nicholson
Hahahahaha! I didn't mean the golfer. (I always do that. My brain doesn't handle names well. I'd make a lousy politician.)

All I know is that Anger Management was hilarious. The sex stuff didn't bother me. Maybe I'm weird but I didn't even notice what some folks here complained about.

FYI. BTW, Clemenza, did any of the scenes in this flick take place in your neighborhood?

Nope, but they filmed in NYC GOP CHICK's neighborhood! The Brooklyn Scenes were filmed in the northern part of the borough (I live in the southern part).
Of course, all you have to do to see my neighborhood is rent Saturday Night Fever. Can we get Al Gore to review that classic?

The best movie I've seen using NYC as a backdrop was Taxi Driver. That was probably also the best movie made in the 70s. Listen carefully to that jazzy soundtrack the next time you watch Taxi Driver. It was PERFECT!

Hated it. Predictable plot, lame jokes. Too bad. Good cast.

Listen carefully to that jazzy soundtrack the next time you watch Taxi Driver. It was PERFECT! That would be the last score of the late Bernard Herrman, who composed the score in many cases from his bed. He died before the movie was released.
Times Square and the East Village (where most of the movie was filmed) have cleaned up considerably since then. For sleaze these days, I guess you have to cruise Oakland Park or Biscayne Boulevards!
