Grenade-attack suspect describes Islam 'taunts'

The U.S. Army sergeant accused of killing two officers and wounding 14 soldiers by throwing three grenades into a tent in Kuwait, has told his mother that he was relentlessly humiliated about his Islamic faith by three superior officers, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.
Sgt. Asan Akbar described fellow soldiers referred to him as a 'rag head' after his deployment to Kuwait. He claimed he was ''provoked and harassed'' and made to feel like the enemy rather than an American soldier.
''If they hadn't done what they done, and said what they said, this never would have happened,'' said Akbar's mother, Quran Bilal.
Akbar reportedly told her how his unit ''turned against him'' in Kuwait and that he broke under the pressure of religious persecution. ''I think he went temporarily insane and didn't even know it,'' Bilal said.
Military authorities declined to address the army engineer's allegations of harassment. However, a spokesman for the Army's 101st Airborne Division suggested supervising officers experienced problems with Akbar in the past. Other military officials said shortly after the attacks that Akbar had ''an attitude problem'' and his motive ''most likely was resentment.''
Akbar, 32, was working as a night sentinel on March 23 at Camp Pennsylvania in Kuwait when the attack occurred.
Military officials are expected to seek the death penalty at court-martial proceedings against Akbar. Those proceedings are on hold, although under military law he is entitled to a hearing within 30 days of arrest. Authorities cite the war as a factor in delaying the hearing.
Of the 1.4 million active-duty U.S. forces, approximately 4,200 are declared Muslims, an estimated 6,000 are undeclared.

Mrs. Akbar continues to blame everyone but her son. Islam is not a religion of peace.

String 'em up! I don't care if his fourth-grade teacher called him names, the fact that he
voluntarily elected to do what he did (murder, treachery, etc) has caused him to forfeit his right to live.
(There was some discussion a while back which cause me to be curious as to his statements of being called a "rag-head" - is he not an African-American convert to Islam, from when his mother married her second husband? My memory is nowhere near as good as it used to be - anyone have a refresher?)

Of course, the constant taunting, provocation and harrassment
by Sgt. Asan Akbar towards his fellow soldiers would have had precisely the same effect, if it was being ignored.
Islam has the peculiar effect of creating delusion, megalomania and denial of reality on all its victims.

Sounds to me like he's more concerned with his mother still loving him than what he did to his comrades. He faces the death penalty, and if he does't get that, he will get life in Leavenworth. But.... mom will still love him. *s*
We all want our mother's love. Um.... don't we?

Thanks for the map.... that was interesting.
I sure hope Ashcroft and Ridge have their Intell agents working in every one of those locations. Civil liberties be damned. The innocenthave nothing to fear - but those consipiring against amenrica should fear a lot!
Do any of these Islamis fundamentalists work? Or do they just gether and talk and protest? Must get their expenses paid by Saudi Arabia, I'm betting.
Ummmm...... same goes for all those anti-war marchers a month or so ago. I work.... I can't take off to go to marches of any sort. Do any of these people work for a living??

. ''I think he went temporarily insane and didn't even know it,'' Bilal said. She is obviously lying and knows her son is a cold-blooded murderer but doesn't care. She must have raised him to be one.
He may be insane but so what. Execute him soon. Too bad he can't be executed twice.

I think Akbar is saying what certain people want to hear, so he can be made into a "martyr" for their cause. He's obviously a creep of the highest magnitude.

''If they hadn't done what they done, and said what they said, this never would have happened,'' said Akbar's mother, Quran Bilal. NO!!!!!,if your son hadn't, cut the power, pulled the pins on the grenades, then threw them towards his Commanding officers, then tried to evade, then THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPEN.
I guess this mother believes too that ISLAM is a "Region of peace, and her son will kill you to prove it."

This is completely bogus.
I didn't like all of the officers placed over me in the USMC. But I didn't frag any of them either.
This murderous maggot deserves hanging.

First of all after being "captured" (you capture the enemy you dont arrest him)
Akbar was heard to have said words to the effect that "You people" have come here to rape "our" women and kill "our" people.....the words "you people" "our women" indicate Akbar did not identify with the Americans ..yet he could not identify with the "iraqis" as he is not Iraqi...so who is the "our" he is refering to?....most likely it is "Islam"
Furthermore... fragging a superior as the result of some percieved slight would indicate that the fraggin victim be in the same command as the perp....
Since Akbar was "attached" to the 101 and not assigned its very unlikely or impossible that he would have had any contact with Infantry officers let alone their brigade commander or any of the officers in his CP...
So why did Akbar target the command of the 101? ..He knew who was going to plan conduct and lead the next days battle....He went after the head honcho...hoping to knock out the entire command structure of the 101 giving his Islamic buddies the victory and himself a big heros welcome into either the world of the victors or allah heaven...imo
The big question is...who was he taking his orders from...how conntected was he to either Iraq or Saudi Arabia ...how great is the infrastructure of muslim sleeper cells inside the US Army?
How well financed and connected are they
For the US Army to conduct this trial as though it is merely a "disgruntled" crazy man...is very interesting imo..
Perhaps this is all it is...but the words Akbar chose the place he studied..the people he associated with and his targeting of the command structure that were not his immediate superiors and his staying in the military that he stated he hated...makes me wonder who he really took his orders from? and if any other Akbars are out there...
Then there is the matter of Wahhabi Chaplains...who greatly outnumber all others...
And was it CAIR who made sure that Wahhabi Chaplains are the muslim chaplain of choice..
This of course was all Clinton's doing...

"Civil liberties be damned.
What a maroon."
Sorry..... didn't mean we should eliminate our civil liberties. I didn't put it in the proper context. So many think the Patriot Act(s) are eroding our civil liberties. I'm not one.
I can appreciate your reaction to my comment. Totally appropriate on your part.

You have excellent perception of this matter, IMHO.
Recall that Timothy McVeigh was seen with former Iraqi National Army soldiers in the days preceeding the O.K.C. Fed Bldg. bombing - eyewitnesses confirmed it. (McVeigh was infamous for "misting" Iraqi heads with a 50 cal at over a half mile.)
Recall the D.C. sniper - a former U.S. Army NCO turned Muslim.
The Muslims most definitely DO have a plan. It includes each point you mentioned.

"If they'd shot this dirtbag at sunrise, like they should have, we wouldn't have to listen to this." That was my original knee-jerk reaction also.
But after I got to thinking about it, it made more sense to let the bastard live long enough to prope his contacts, doctrine, training, and those of his fellow-conspirators that do most certainly exist with the ranks of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Then kill him (and all his putrid jihad maggot brethren).
