It looks like he tucked the legs of his flightsuit in his boots.
The Navy doesn't do that, but maybe the NG does.

ROFLOL.
I took a closer look at his flight suit after that one. It's a bit on the SHORT side. Notice how the bottom of the suit is at the top of the boots. He needed one 2 inches longer.
Well tailored? I don't think so.

Folks, in the interest of education, the reason that the President's flightsuit (known to those of us who wear them regularly as a "zoom bag" or simply "bag", BTW) looks "short" is simple. He's also wearing an SV-2 survival vest-and-life preserver combination, which uses straps under the legs. These straps tend to "bunch up" the bag's legs, giving that "high water" look. They also give that "sock-in-the-crotch" look, as well.
Trust me, this look was NOT planned for him, nor was it tailored. Flight suits and vests are REQUIRED items for anyone being transported aboard an ejection-seat aircraft like the S-3B, and for all Naval Aviators, Flight Officers, and Aircrewmen (that would be ME). The suits, you see, are made of Nomex flame-resistant material, and the vests contain, in addition to the flotation device, a ring to which a rescue swimmer might attach a helicopter hoist, and other survival items.
I wear this stuff almost daily, so I know whereof I speak. I hope this helps!

Well, at least it wasn't digitally enhanced.

Thanks for the explanation. Hubby was a Naval aviator many moons ago (Viet Nam) and, while I saw him in his flight suit many times, I never saw him in all of the other gear he wore (G-suit, etc).
"Trust me, this look was NOT planned for him, nor was it tailored."
Thank goodness for that!;o)

BTW, I'm sure the gear has changed quite a lot since he was in the Navy. It's been so long ago that two of the few terms I remember are:
*pickle...pickle...pickle...*
and
*I've got the 'ball*
Thank you for your service at this time in our country's history. It's much appreciated.

I was commissioned under Ronald Reagan, served under George H.W Bush and languished under Clinton. I'm not only awe-struck by this generation of heroes, I'm beside myself with envy. Of course you are. No other President (not even Reagan or HW) has ever expressed such faith in our military. W thinks they are perfection - he constantly says so, and they deliver.
Who wouldn't want to be part of that? It's teamwork and cooperation and respect up and down the line. It's no doubt the best time to be in the military ever.

I never look at those pictures of President Bush with all those smiling faces without getting misty-eyed and tearing up. Eat your heart out, Clinton!

They also would look more "natural" sticking their heads out of a tank like Dukakis with that $#it eatin' grin on his face!

Not only would Daschle have needed a booster seat in the cockpit, but they'd have to blindfold and muzzle him to keep his screaming muted as to not let him distract the pilot.LOL....meek, do you have any visuals for this? : )

I never look at those pictures of President Bush with all those smiling faces without getting misty-eyed and tearing up. Eat your heart out, Clinton! They have the same effect on me, too. I'm so very proud of President Bush; by contrast, I could never look at or listen to Klintoon....he repulsed me.
