Maybe Olympia J. Snowe and George V. Voinovich are in talks with Jeffords to become full rats? I've never understood just how this can happen. What about the VOTERS who elected Snowe & Voinovich (and Jeffers as well)? Doesn't switching parties after an election basically cause their votes to be null and void? I wondered this even when the switch was from Dem to GOP like Ben Whitehorse Johnson or whatever his name is. This kind of thing allows the unelected party to use threats and ultimately to rule. Isn't there some kind of law that could be used to prevent it?
