OH, that Khadafy! Jordan's Queen Noor assures us that the Libyan dictator and his wife are such a "delightful and charming couple," with whom she spent "a remarkably pleasant evening."

Strife in the Middle East? It's the Jews who are at fault, her majesty informs us in "Leap of Faith," her new best-selling autobiography: "Jews, Muslims, and Christians had lived peacefully in the Middle East and indeed in Palestine for centuries. It was not until the rise of Zionism and the creation of Israel that animosities took root."

Grace Kelly certainly performed her last and greatest role with dignity and an easy grace. To suggest, however, that she brought class to the Grimaldis is both unfair and untrue: they were a family of substance and some cultivation for centuries, well-regarded in their category of minor princelings of the higher aristocracy.

It isn't really a desert snakepit when you are living in many palaces and having your every desire met. Queen Noor "amuses" me. She supposedly converted to Islam and yet runs around with the blonde hair flowing and the reddest of lipsticks. Just proves that the "elite" are SO MUCH BETTER than the peons - no matter what the culture or country.

If I were Jewish I would certainly not be insulted, I'd be proud. The statements are also true.

Now, I'm certain her intent was not to praise Jews, but as an American I am not insulted by those statements. So Jews worked hard and have succeeded; isn't that what America is all about?

I did say Grace Kelly played a role, however consumately.

There is certainly the view that he was marrying beneath his niveau -- King Ludwig of Bavaria and King Edward VII after all only had actresses as mistresses.

I am a Jew, and you are right; ordinarily success IS something to be proud of. I tell my kids essentially what you said. BUT, and it's a big BUT, this information is often put forth with the implication that soemthing nefarious took place; there is some kind of cosnpiracy at work (The Protocols of the Elders...).

It's not hard work, intelligence, investment, thrift, honesty, etc. that helps the joos, you see; it's all an evil cabal intent on stealing what you have in power and wealth.

She is a rather shallow, odd woman. Sure, she's got nice looks, but she seems to have very ignorant, out to please attitudes in refusing to accept reality or seeing any fault in her own or surrounding Arab countries and it is evident when you see her open her trap. It is fortunate that she went off to Jordan and is not able to have the impact on hurting our country with her traitorous, troublesome and terrorist sympathizing attitudes. The woman has problems.

I know what you are saying about the implication of the "evil Jewish cabal" and all that. My point is that it should not be surprising that an Arab - even a "non-conventional" Arab such as Queen Noor - feels this way. It should be expected, and should not be news, even to Dick Morris.

I'm also not sure that I agree that she is "dissing" the US. She is simply stating fact, that Jews have been very successful. And this IS a fact, whether you attribute it to hard work and capitalism and to the opportunities we have here, or to the nefarious means that Arabs do. I would be curious to see the quotes in the context of the book and without Morris' editorializing. (Not that I'm tempted to buy the book; I consider autobiographies to be the literary equivalents of reality TV).

You are correct. Growing out of a victimhood mentality is not easy, esp. with WWII in recent memory.

You nailed it. Also, let us state the obvious: the Arab world is insane with jealousy that little Israel took a wasteland in in the span of 40 years turned it into the jewel of the middle east.
