I used to live in this neighborhood. This particular party/event at the reported location(s) happens every year, but this appears to be the worst ever.

Can you believe that some of these kids said that there was a riot because the cops showed up in riot gear?!

Guess it's time to ban riot gear.

I thought Amherst was the one of the most peaceful towns in the US! After all, they're always protesting war . . .

Call CentCom..they obviously should have contemplated this and had more troops available to stop this!

Sounds like it is past time to issue some felony warrants against some students. Maybe that would begin to bring some sanity back to the Universities.

Their profs probably encouraged them. Spoiled brats at any rate; I have no sympathy for any of them.

I'm surprised that the University elite has not blamed the Department of Defense for not deploying enough troops to prevent this kind of rioting. I can just see some frizzy-haired professor say from the steps of a university building, "Our armed forces first dropped the ball by not stopping the rioting and looting of Baghdad and they cannot keep the streets safe in Amherst... What are we paying them for anyhow?"

They probably rolled the car over and hopped on it because they had difficult doing this with the evil SUV that outraged them. Maybe the car had an "I Support The President" sticker.

This riot is democracy in action, the mob rules.

Tell me about it! I used to live near the American Legion hall in Amherst, and you would not believe the crudeness of the losers who hung out there: fights and drug deals and drunken sex were common sights in the parking lot.

"It's just college kids," added Charles Kotherithana, 22, of Belmont. They said police appearing in riot gear caused the situation to escalate.

The Palestinian mentality: "They tried to stop us from [x], therefore we are justified to do [x]!"
