My benefits ran out.

Back in 75 I think it was. Can I still get an extension?

Sure. What's another six months? :-)

I have a girlfriend who has lost her benefits after 18 months now! I think her benefits are up this week. I will wager you tha by this time next month, she will have a job.

As a former SQA engineer, I can verify that the job market in that industry is bad to non-existent.

But repeated extensions only postpone the inevitable. Every place I ever worked I was well regarded, but the time came when I had to admit I was washed up in that field.

Once you realize that, it gets easier to make a new plan.
It's been two years since I worked in the tech field, and I'm finally making more(take home) than I did on unemployment. The hardest part was getting the first crummy job. Now I'm working my way up the crummy job ladder.

It sucks, but it's better than giving up.

By the way, thanks to you and your family for buying all the shoes. :)
