I guess France is trying to join the axis of evil. When do we invade....
To: Always Right
These Iraqis know too much about French contracts and aid the French were giving in violation of the UN sanctions.

Last I was there (last year), denmark WAS part of Schengen, as well as Norway, Sweden, and Iceland Norway and Iceland are not in the EU at all, so I don't think they are part of Schengen. But passport checks are frequently omitted at the borders of the Schengen area.

passport checks are frequently omitted at the borders of the Schengen areaI don't know what the "Schengen area" is, but I did travel throughout Europe on a U.S. passport in 2000, and came home without a single visa stamp.
In Germany the immigration officers barely glanced at the throngs of travelers, and then went back their newspapers. Arriving in Paris, there was no passport check whatsoever. None.

Have you seen this? I thought perhaps your anger at the French was beginning to cool a bit, so I thought this would get you stoked again! :-)

Hope things have changed after 911. Not really. Inside Schengen ("deep EU," if you like), you can travel anywhere as if it were one nation. They may stop you at the borders when there is a conference somewhere that attracts anarchist protesters, but that's all. Some border stations have actually been taken down completely.
At the Hungarian-EU border, the Hungarian officers still check the papers of both inbound and outbound travelers. The EU ones (Austrians) usually just wave me through when they see I'm holding a Hungarian passport in my hand.

I do hope that this story isn't true, but it wouldn't surprise me if the cheese-eating surrender-monkeys did as is alleged.
If it does turn out to be proven, it is time to treat France as any other member of the Axis of Evil.

Nothing the surrender monkeys do surprises me any more. They stopped being an alley long ago.

Oh I don't know...maybe a dead end garbage strewn alley. :)

If true, the Bush Doctrine would require us to launch a full-fledged invasion of France, would it not?
To: jagrmeister
Battle Plan: Close their embassy, sink their one carrier, embargo all their military sales, bomb the Mirage plant, apply a NO-FLY zone over France for all military flights. Then, we'll sit down and talk about their future. Am I too extreme?????

If true, MFN for France should be revoked immediately.
