Actually, I fear our government far more than terrorists. Never gave terrorism a thought. But this clown's side will be back in power someday.

That is something to fear.

I think most of us spend more of our time worrying about how new governmental regulations or agencies will affect us than we do looking out for terrorists. In that respect her basic statement is correct.

Our country is under attack from within as well as from foreign forces, but the reaction of our government has been to deprive us of even more of the freedom we cherish. It's been said that the road to he!! is paved with good intentions. The Patriot Act and its evil clone still in the works are examples of paving bricks on that road.

Long before them though, there was the Social Security Act, the National Firearms Act, the Gun Control Act, the Brady Bill... etc. All of them were designed and passed to accomplish some "good" end, but their unintentional consequences have been to lead us ever downward toward a future tyranny which would awe Stalin.

It is the nature of government to govern and woe to any who get in its way!

I too fear our govenment more than I do any terrorists. What's more, I fear the terrorists may very well have accomplished their long-term goal.

All the laws we're loosening and streatching will eventually be used by those that come after Bush. The best thing conservatives can do when an extension of federal power is under consideration is ask, would I want this done if Hillary were president?
