"When two people exchange diseases in the privacy of their own bedroom it's no one's busness. "
Unless they're homosexuals - then, all the Santorum supporters go nuts! Because, it's only the gays who are getting these diseases!

Check out the Univ health center stats...on every university in America VD is epidemic and has been since the 60s. It almost seems as higher-education and morality are mutually exclusive No more so, I suspect than any other environment that puts large numbers of young people together without parental supervision or supervision in loco parentis....

An obvious result of the proposed tax cut. < /sarcasm>
Here in Mn. the Governor (Tim Pawlenty) just doesn't want to raise taxes, not cut just not raise them. And the hue and cry from the "usual suspects" would not be believed.

1.444% for Blacks
0.584% for Hispanics
0.097% for Whites
I am surprised it is so low.
Think it is higher than, say, California or New York?

Think it is higher than, say, California or New York? There was a post a few months back about how bad it is in England. I can't remember if there were percentages. The story was about a back alley clinic that seened quiet on the outside but was packed with STD cases on the inside.

Since the taxpayer funds coverage for this vice as of today and tommorrow, (like Congress is going to cut entitlements) it does effect society when two people or more engage in "risky" sexual activity.
My choice is to let those people who engage in this behavior stew in their own vices. Paying out of their own pockets will hopefully wake them up.
The question is, since when has the Federal Government (And the electorate as a whole) endorsed personal responsibility? If that happened how will the fatcats in DC and also the State Houses remain elected? Politicians whole campaign strategy will have to be altered and they might have to think for a change.
The boomers are going to start retiring soon and will perpetually vote for those promising to keep entitlements going. Funding for the people's vices will also continue, maybe to the point of the Government actually stepping into the bedroom to control behavior (To avoid more cost). After all when the beast pays the beast will seek control.

Find the 2 or 3 guys spreading the disease and fix 'em.
Watch the problems drop.
Do *nothing* about syphilis in the gay population.

maybe to the point of the Government actually stepping into the bedroom to control behavior (To avoid more cost). After all when the beast pays the beast will seek control. Precisely my point. Any amount of government intrusion can be justified as long as you accept the original proposition that we can be made to pay for other's mistakes.
When that happens, freedom is dead.
I have to pay for your heart attack, so I get to say what you eat and how much you exercize. Drop that Big Mac and get on that treadmill or I'll have a guy with a gun force you to.
The experiment failed, the patient died.

after the Wellstone memorial service, the participants were so excited that they all got laid. That explains the rise in STD's there

All we need is more Sex Education and condoms. Exactly. That is how sex ed forced itself into the public schools: as a means to prevent pregnancy and STDs. I can hear the libs now: "Think of how bad it would be if we didn't have sex ed."
