Thanks for the ping. Are the conservationists using their own funds to buy this land? If so, that might be a good thing, as it could put a sizable dent in the environmentalists' coffers...
(Being the leftists that they are, I'm sure they are finding a way to pay for this with tax dollars, though. Bums..)

Only way to fight this is for developers to form their own "buyers club" and do the same thing. I guess that club would be sued forever by the enviralists, though. Never mind.

Animals first envirowacko crap. First of all, this is nothing but self-aggrandizing monetary masturbation. The chance of southwestern Montana becoming suburbia is about the same as Bill Gates getting married to Ross Perot.
Why is that? Two things: 1. People. THERE AREN'T ENOUGH PEOPLE THAT CAN EARN A LIVING THERE BECAUSE OF THE ENVIROS. NO MINING, NO LOGGING, NOTHING. YOU CAN'T SURVIVE BY WORSHIPPING THE FRICKIN' ANIMALS. 2. Money. See #1 above.
You enviros need to learn where the things you consume actually come from. Groceries don't start at the grocery store. The raw materials that make EVERYTHING don't only come from recycling centers. You have to MINE THEM FIRST!! This entire post is nothing more than Earth First utopian bull$hit. Why it hasn't been Zotted is beyond me. You make me sick. As far as I'm concerned, you PETA and Earth Firsters should be inhabiting "relocation centers" somewhere in Alaska with only the clothes on your back so you can become one with the bears you love so much. They'd love you too - for a snack. Come sit in a tree on my property, PLEASE. I could use some fertilizer for the trees.

Nothing wrong if they used their money to do this...but they don't. The tax subsidies to these buyers and groups is paid by us.
On the other hand, I give up. Why not get back some of what you overpay in taxes? I have a nice piece of property, will probably try and get a conservation easement for part of it and sell the rest off.
