[history]
I know Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., is an institution. But right about now, I think he should be put in one -- as much for his hypocrisy as his gall.
The West Virginia senator has the right to criticize anyone he wants. If he thinks the president was grandstanding with that speech to the troops and the nation onboard the USS Abraham Lincoln, that's his right.

I love Neil CavutoMe too. Along with Brit Hume and Fred Barnes, he's the best thing on FNC and, in fact, the only reason I watch them more than any other news network.

Seeing ScumBubba sporting a 1AD patch in Bosnia right after the wife and I had retired from that unit inspired the artwork below and led to statements that got me my first Secret Service "visit".
I would give up every award and decoration I ever received to salute Mr. Bush and shake his hand.

I hated that the military had to put up with Clinton as Commander in Chief.I think the name of a new book is Dereliction of Duty..It might be something you'd enjoy!

I have just four words for any democrat pissing and whining about useless, expensive flights:
Retiring Senator John Glenn.

Very good or Hillary's jaunts. Chris Matthews ask Waxman how much it cost to fly Congressmen to the Paris Air Show.

Nice page of pictures and description of the event.
I would imagine that anyone flying a military aircraft would have to pass a sobriety test. Isn't it GREAT that our President can pass ANY sobriety test! That was one more thing that pushed me over the edge and into the protest street during "the Dark Ages" - the fact that we were being led by drunks and druggies.
It is so clear that we have a real man in office, a man who could shoot Ol' Yeller if it was necessary. Any one who is whining about the President (who is qualified to be in that plane) is jealous. Not many have the guts and training to land in a jet on an aircraft deck and he does. He was among his peers, he qualifies as a Commander in Chief.
This would be a wholly different conversation if it were a stunt, but what is so boggling is that the attack is against something that is TRUE (he's qualified to do this and he did). Like Brian Kilmeade said this morning - he's being attacked on one of his STRENGTHS.
I went to www.ocents.com and ordered Gene's "Character Counts" bumper sticker. I've just got to fight this kind of pressure to hate America any way I can.

The dems are so mad because they know how much respect the military and patriotic Americans hold for Bush over Iraqi Freedom. They are mad because Bush had the guts to take the risk in Iraq that none of them would EVER have taken, going against both the UN and Europe ... and emerging so completely victorious and vindicated.
They are mad because he had the guts to make that dangerous carrier arrested landing and the personnel LOVED him for it.
That's what this is about. They know that his actions will garner political support that they can only dream of, and it will come naturally ... while they have to go through all kinds of mechanisms and payoffs to get whatever fleeting support they can garner.

"Statesmanship": maybe. "Showmanship": doubtful, considering the track record of this man. He is sincerely proud to be their CIC. The answer is "Cool".
You can do that kind of thing when you're president. It's just that some presidents fit in a flight suit & some don't.
Besides, it was long past time for an aircraft to be designated "Navy One".
Too cool.
