I have cataracts and they are getting worse, but not "ripe" enough to operate yet.

If the doc says that my cataracts aren't ripe yet, I will go into a Freeper-perfected rant.

My problem was supposedly going to be fixed with cataract surgery in January, but it made my vision worse, not better, as physician failed to diagnose underlying condition: Fuchs' Corneal Dystrophy. At this point, I believe that all corneal surgery should be performed by a corneal specialist, not your friendly neighborhood ophthalmologist. That's where I made my mistake. A specialist would have caught Fuchs' in a NY minute and used different procedure and medicines during surgery to prevent the damage my doc caused.

Fuchs' effects one percent of the population and is hereditary. Still, I had no clue, as I'm the first to have it in my known family. The test for Fuchs (and other corneal dystrophies) takes 14 seconds if your doc has the right little meter, a pachymeter, that measures corneal thickness. It's different from intraocular pressure (IOP), which they all measure.

Yep, I first noticed that headlights were brown/amber when using only my left eye and sure enough there was a problem.
NOw a couple of years later, headlights look brown/amber out of my right eye, which tells me it's gotten worse than
the left.
Plus I tend to be nightblind from thirty years of welding arcs.

Old age ain't for sissies.
