"The Long Way Home Project" - A Great Video Series on the Real Vietnam Story

As a Vietnam Vet (Corpsman with USMC, two tours, 3rd & 9th marines) I found a pretty damn good video series (about 3-1/2 hours) that does a good job (especially the 2nd and 3rd tapes) of explaining what a lot of Vets already knew about what was happening.

I bought the series for my two sons (35yo & 33yo) and absolutely recommend them to anyone who really wants to hear a good accounting of what happened during the Vietnam war era.

Believe me, these are some videos that the Networks who were distorting the facts aren't too proud of!

Thank you for your service. I pray that you were able to return home whole, in mind and body. I know few that did.

Has this version been okayed by that lying sonofabitch - - Cronkite?

He was worth at least 5 NVA Divisions....
He killed a lot of Americans and South Vietnamese with his damned lies..

The 2nd tape; 'How we won the war is good stuff about how we were(!) kicking serious ass "in country", then - the 3rd tape; 'How we lost the war' tells the story about how the media and politicians F#CKED-UP the end of the war.

Very good stuff...I highly recommend it to those who want the 'whole story' in video, with facts from some of the General Officers who are speaking out about what actually happened!

Hey, thanks for the link to the VFW article on the series.

I'm telling you, I'm pretty calloused about how we (Vets) were treated by those who were not there but I really found this series to be just awesome and enlighting for seeing/hearing what WE knew was going on.

Giving my two sons these videos just validated what I had been telling them for years! I know they have let their friends watch the tapes since they've watched them.

BTW, in the tape; "How we lost the war", they showed Hanoi Jane doing her best to show her traitorist ways.

They also made clear the story about "Fonda getting 'slipped' notes from our POWs (while she was touring Hanoi with our ENEMY) for her to take home BUT, instead, Fonda gave the notes to the POW's guards. Results; most of the note passers were severely beatened for their attempts."

You know, I have never hated someone so much as I do 'HanoiJANE' - that trashy bitch!!

The documentary that I want to see....

Is the one that STARTS after the NVA took over, and documents the campaigns of slaughter against the peoples of South Vietnam, especially the indigenous Montagnards ('yards) that were such wonderful and reliable allies in the war against the communists...

Those brave people fought on for decades after we left...
Small numbers crossed the border into Thailand, seeking sanctuary several years ago.

I regret not being able to save those brave and fierce warriors... and bring them all to America...

If this isn't all Marine, all the time I will buy it for my kids. I kinda kept them out of this part of my life for reasons that are personal, but they are of an age now where they might understand why I am me.

This is not 'all Marine, all the time', its more an overview of what was going on. It's really a very good series thats more informational then sensational.

Your kids will get a great education from the tapes and a respect for why there is so much controversy over what did and did not happen in Vietnam, and the politics (in the states) that caused the people to be so divided over the war.

In the 3rd tape; "How we lost the war", your issues are covered.
