I am not flaming you I just wondered because my daughter was going to go until this years revalations.

The only case I saw any reporting about on television (and I am sure it was the worst case) involved a girl who broke the academy rules by having an upper classman buy her and a male classmate and then she and the male classmate proceeded to drink the entire bottle. The girl then passed out from the alcohol. Even though she passed out, she claimed that an upper classman raped her, but what kind of a witness does a passed out person make?

If your daughter follows the rules and doesn't put up with crap and I sure she will be as safe or safer at the Air Force Academy as she would be at any other college.

The Sexual assault involved handful girls over a four year period......

The response from the Air Force has been overwhelming. They removed (retired) two Generals, a portion of the general command at the Academy, placed a OG's office at the Acedemy plus investigators, implemented new policies to prevent similar incidents and the schools dean personally met with each girl attending the Academy. The Secretary of the Airforce has this a a permanent item on his weekly briefing and has taken a leading role.

Compare this to the average Monday morning at most Universities & Colleges after the weekend Frat parties....Numerous girls are at the health office seeking counseling...

We hold our Military Schools to the standard of perfection and nothing less...

You tell me, where would your daughter be safer?

I'll put my money on the Academy any day.....

Just make sure your daughter has good training in self-defense and make sure she's WILLING TO USE IT. Once a couple of girls kick some upper classmen's a$$es, that crap will stop!
