HEROIC PRESIDENT SOARS - WHILE DEMS WHINE
NY POST ^ | May 11, 2003 | Letters column

I can't believe the gall of Democrats who question the cost and motives of President Bush's visit to USS Abraham Lincoln ("Suicide Dems," Opinion, John Podhoretz, May 9). This, after eight years of a president who every time you turned around was at a fundraiser. How'd he get to those events? Walk? As they say, the cost of raising the spirits of our fighting men and women - priceless!

(Criticizing Bush's appearance on the Abraham Lincoln) .....after eight years of a president

X-42 took the most expensive presidential trip ever - costing $50M.

I hear tell he sold seats for the trip, and once on-board, Hitlery sold refreshments....for campaign cash (LOL).

NOW the Congressional Democrats are critical of how much the institutional costs of having a President add up. The difference is, that today we really do have a President, while for the period January 1993 to January 2001 (the Interregnum), there was an imposter who occupied the Oval Office, but failed to carry out many of the assigned duties of President. Couldn't fight a war that was thrust into his face, couldn't concentrate on the business of governance, but boy, could he ever drum up campaign cash and enjoy the perks and immunities conferred upon the office.

Heck. Just one or two of Empress Hazel O'Leary's trips to Africa with her HUGE retinue probably cost the taxpayers as much as this trip to the the Lincoln.

Bush swallowed the democrats canary when he landed on the USS Abraham. (Maxine H2O's term) Now the democrats can't go down into the mine. I love it.

In all humility.......

I've attempted to create a background reflecting my feelings for what George W. Bush has meant to this country. If you would like it for your computer- feel free to download a copy. Distribute it if you like.

Large File [1024x768]
Small File [800x600]

If you like it, please bump this thread so others may find this background. If, on the other hand, you think it stinks- don't bump.

Great column. But don't you think the piece might be counterproductive, since it might get the Dems to stop calling attention to Bush's aircraft carrier trip?

No, after all this is the party that sponsered and put on the "Welstone Memorial"

Keep it up Dems, please keep it up!

Speaking of ex Energy Empress O'Leary, ex-Sec Def "The Prince" Cohen, and the "Travelers" Billy and Hill, we can't ignore current bwanas with cap B -- one being Secretray of the Treasury Paul O'Neill -- and his fab trip Africa-way, with abso fab mega star U2's Bono!

'Ere's what mega star Bono told CNN afterwards:

This is what America is about. You read the Constitution, it is a poetic thing, standing with the weak and oppressed and guarding each man's sacred honor, or whatever the phrase is.
A real Constitutional EXPERT -- fab mega star, world hunger activist, and Constitutional expert, all rolled into one!

A wonderful voyage of Compassion into Africa!

I forget, did they visit Zimbawe? Does any one remember? Just asking...

Before Hillary, Bill was getting it on closer to home.

Don't forget how X-42 and the Ice Queen airlifted a fleet of limos for a short vacation in Aspen so that their gaudy entourage could travel the town in style.
