So if he is related (married or otherwise) to Joan Macri, who had Gore speak to her American History class, I suppose it stands to reason this "editorial" was written because he has been fuming ever since Election 2000 when his dreams of overnights in the Lincoln Bedroom went up in smoke?

We can surmise that he still is working full bore for visit to the Lincoln Bedroom - either with Hillary or another Democrat in the White House. He appears to be quite active in Maine's Democrat Party with and/or through a woman who is listed as sharing a phone and his name with him (we might assume Joan is his wife then).

There's nothing wrong with an active Democrat writing a letter to their local paper. However, when it hits the ether/airwaves, it's nice to know what their biases might be. It also sheds light on the strategies that Democrats will be using in 2004...

Not really a biggie, but it does prove your connection and as a result, proves this guy is more than just an average citizen voicing his opinion. Rather, he is an established voice of the Democrat Party in Maine.
