I wish we could point to that falsehood as the only reason the GOP failed to pick up a seat..but the sad fact is that LOuisiana does NOT vote out incumbents..no matter how lousy..the only incumbent to be voted out was in 1930..and huey long had to do it..incumbency is a cancer in this state..apathy is its friend..

Sadly, this is true. It may be a national problem. The day of the election, I had a co-worker actually say, "Well, I wonder which woman I should vote for (Mary "D" or Suzanne "R")?" (I thought, If you don't know by now, then you shouldn't vote.)
