I never said I hated Washington. And yes I did, unfortunately, leave out the fact he freed his slaves. I admire Washington, Lee, Jefferson, and Lincoln. My comment was only meant as a historical observation. You ass/u/me that I was on a hate rant and you sir were in error. Do not be so quick to judgement.

Apologies if I took your comment wrong. The meddling Yankee leftists have been rattling our cages with more frequency as the the PC jihad increases in intensity and our nerves are a bit on edge.

The revisionist evaluation of historical figures using contemporary standards is appalling - and far too many people lack sufficient historical knowledge to evaluate it to begin with.
Abraham Lincoln came to symbolize the Union, or the North. Yet, Lincoln was from Kentucky, way South and West of Virginia. Robert E. Lee, was from Northern Virginia. Which man had the Southern mindset? Which man was educated? Lincoln had one year of schooling. So, he became a lawyer. Lee graduated first in his class at West Point.
Robert E. Lee fought in the Mexican campaign, and the Civil War. Lincoln went into the field one afternoon. Having had his fill of war, Lincoln retired to political manipulation, which is what Southern politicians do best. But I digress. Robert E. Lee fought for Virginia and Virginians fought for him.
The revisionist evaluation of historical figures using contemporary standards, isn't just appalling, it's plain ludicrous. Who could fill Robert E. Lee's boots anyway -- around Richmond Virginia. What would the Boy Scout patches read? The Hillary Clinton district?
