Tell the Senate to Support Bush Tax Cuts! [Freeper Alert Needed to Support Tax Cuts!]

ISSUE: According to Gary Bauer (cwfpac.com), "Conservatives in both the House and the Senate are furious that [Majority Leader Senator Bill] Frist went along with a tax-cut 'compromise' with RINOs (Republican In Name Only) Olympia Snowe and George Voinovich that effectively gutted the President's proposal - slashing it from $726 billion to $350 billion. Columnist Bob Novak reports... that Frist didn't bother to tell the White House or House Republican leaders," adding to the anger.

The White House is now waging a massive campaign to save the tax cut from Frist's "leadership," and conservatives in Congress are pressing for the deal to be reversed somehow. Time is of the essence. The economy desperately needs the boost of tax cuts now to spur job growth and ensure that G.W. Bush doesn't face the same fate as his father did come election time.

CitizenLink.org notes that the President is taking his case for a tax cut directly to the American people, and asking for their help. "Congress will hear from me... Congress needs to hear from you," the president told people at a rally in Little Rock, Arkansas. "We need tax relief that creates the greatest number of jobs."

At heart, the president's message to the American people was: "Let your voice be heard." Stephen Moore, of the Club for Growth, said the president is hoping the public can help turn the tide in Congress.

"He's a couple of votes short in the Senate, so he's going to some of these key states where you have skeptical senators," Moore said. "He's trying to wrangle out these last two or three votes that he needs to secure passage of the tax cut."

The president only needs a few more votes to secure passage of his tax plan. Let's help him get them.

ACTION ITEM: Bush's plan to cut taxes is starting to look like the stock market: going down everyday. Bush wanted $726 billion in cuts, but the House of Representatives only passed $550 billion. Now, RINOs in the Senate want it cut even more, to $350 or less. It's time they heard from YOU.

He's a couple of votes short in the Senate, so he's going to some of these key states where you have skeptical senators.

Too bad he didn't mention which states. He can't be talking about the Maine/Ohio/Rhode Island RINOs, because they're not "skeptical" -- they've made it clear they're 100% dead set against.

U.S. Trade Deficit 2nd Highest on Record

In the new "global economy", economic stimulus via tax cuts is negated by trade policies and the growing trade deficit. The "trickle down" ripple effect is redirected offshore, and Amercian taxpayers are merely saddled with additional government debt.

Instead of trickling-down, rippling through the domestic economy and generating federal revenues through economic growth, Dubya's tax cuts flow overseas in the form of trade deficits and increased overseas investments. Since he doesn't propose federal budget reductions to accompany his tax cuts, the result will be continued deficit spending and increased National Debt.

It's glaringly evident that Dubya's "stimulus package" is severely flawed.

I see this thread didn't get much "screen" time...Let's try again...

When one sees that the tax cuts-soon to be investments will go where they will reap the greatest benefit, which I assume is China, it would seem the only supporters of the tax cut plan would be the ones that will receive the cold, hard cash...

And since President George doesn't have a plan to trim the budget, it's people like myself that will have to make up the extra tax burden...

I can't see any intelligent reason to support such a tax cut...

I know I'm going to regret this, but how exactly does more cash in my pocket constitute a greater burden to me (aside from the weight of the paper, of course)?

Question..............

If the rats think that the tax cuts are SO BAD, why not let them happen, then (supposedly) they'll fail and then GW Bush will look bad & the rats can exploit that fact?

COULD IT BE THAT THE RATS KNOW IT'LL STIMULATE THE SAGGING ECONOMY?

You would be better off considering the size of the deficit as it compares to the size of our economy.

No, that would be a highly deceptive and distractive comparison. It ignores all other forms of debt that the national economy must service: debt accrued by state and local governments as well as private debt accumulated by individual consumers and businesses.

The budget deficit and National Debt are best understood and analyzed by comparison to annual federal revenues and expenditures.
