He USED to abuse cocaine. How would you like to be defined forever by the worst moment in your life?

Tonight's episode (which I didn't see) may be all that you say, but from watching this program over the years it seems to me to be fairly balanced in its political expressions - one of the funniest episodes I can remember was a few years back, when Martin, as an ex-policeman, did a television endorsement for a pro-gun candidate in a local election. This outraged Frasier who immediately volunteered to do a promo for the opposing candidate, a leftwinger twit. After the rehearsal for the promo, while Frasier and the candidate were chatting, the man revealed that he actually believed he was once abducted by aliens - which of course added new meaning when Frasier did the final endorsement to the phrase "he speaks for the little people". I was prepared to be offended by an anti-gun diatribe as the show began, but in the end the leftwing nut lost his election badly and was heading for California "where this sort thing can actually help you get elected", and the show really seemed a great sendup of leftwing (antigun) types and those who support candidates because of kneejerk reactions.......

The man recently made
morale visits to wounded troopers at military hospitals (along with Michael Jordan, Bo Derek, and others) on his own dime. No one is perfect, but I'm inclined to cut Grammer some slack.

nor being a Dem means being anti-gun. My wife's family are all mutli-generation blue-collar Dems, but they all fight for the 2nd for more than many Republicans fight for the 2nd. Out of the dems running for president right now, one of them, has the highest possible score from the NRA and from GOA. Howard Dean. He has sworn that he would never sign a gun control bill, and he never has signed one as governor, and has sworn he won't as president either.(This includes that assualt weapons bill) The thing that scares me, is alot of dems vote republican, because the gun grabbers scare them, he would give them an option, on the upside, the so called gun control nut soccer moms, would despise him, and simply not vote, so thats good, since most of those gun control nuts that hate the 2nd amendment are more likely to be Rat then repub, and if they don't vote, period, we also win alot more senate and house races by default.

First off, I don't buy the disease theory of addiction. Secondly, by what I can read, this dude does a whole lot more than abuse something. Something, BTW, that is only manufactured, illegally, to mess you up - your abuse nonsense says alot about your awareness of the problem. Third, take a gander of his life and tell me about his "worst moment" - that is, pick one of the many:
http://www.cosmicbaseball.com/grammer9.html Fourth, I'd have to say that protraying a liberal idiot on the TV for a living wage does little to bolster credibility in claims to be a conservative. By that logic, a whore could claim to be a nun in real life and her trade was just to pay the bills. Fifth, a repeated behavior tells me more than any press release or scripted excuse - this dude has serious problems and is far from what I'd accept as a solid conservative. Sixth, I realized a long, long time ago that nobody is a Saint, but I increasingly am convinced that actions mirror beliefs and solid beliefs result in solid lives.
If you wish to believe tabloid fluff, be my guest! I'm sorry that I tarnished the gilt on Mr. Grammer's distinguished life for you.

Yes, it might be strained. I tend to be reasoned and direct.

If rude is directing you to the facts with support for my opinion, then, yes, I'll bear your label. Try it, you might like it.

"No thanks, I enjoy the company of others."
And the absence of facts.

Let's not jump on Grammer. He's a conservative in liberal Hollywood- and it's hard enough to admit such a thing. Needless to say, there are others writing the show and even the star has limits as far as what he can influence. So let's not dump a rare, brave conservative in Hollywood just because a few leftist writers dropped him a bum script.
To: Hildy
I'm with you.
I don't know how he is doing in his personal life, and it's none of my business anyway. I wish him well. Everyone has problems, and I'm content to be glad I haven't had his.
If the man has the guts - and in his business, that's what it takes - to associate himself with President Bush in a positive way, I'll take that as an addition to our side and put it in the plus column.
Furthermore, I don't care if he plays an axe murderer on television. For me, the line between fantasy and reality isn't so blurred that I can't separate his politics from his role in a sit-com.

I live in Idaho. The only compound I have here is a stick of polishing compound for stainless steel. It works fine with a Dremel Moto-tool and a felt polishing wheel.
Seriously, I don't watch TV. I would never have seen the trash you described. That is the ultimate slight to Hollyweird. Ignore them. Ignore the idiots who pay for commercial time to support them.

I don't fault the actors so much as the writers for that sort of crap.
To: PatrioticAmerican
Your bias is coloring your view. Martin is an Ex Cop, he says he only shoots a few times a year, but they never ever portrayed all gun users or owners as nuts. In fact they showed a prissy Niles finding out he enjoyed guns, it was comic ploy and nothing more.
No one in the show said anything bad about anyone shooting guns at all, and no suspicion was raised by anyone regarding the friends until they mentioned the word "compound". To which Niles responds, something like "a compound, how quaint! Just like the Kennedy's.".
This show was not in any way anti-gun.
To: PatrioticAmerican
Yep. Saw it. I was hopeful that they were going to present the shooting sports in a positive light in the beginning and I was surprised at first. Sure enough, it turned out to be more mindless, leftist propaganda.
