A cliffhanger in Disney's partnership with Pixar

LOS ANGELES Steve Jobs and his team at Pixar Animation Studios are feeling pretty good these days. . On May 3, several hundred Pixar employees crowded the Paramount Theater in downtown Oakland, California, dressed in tuxedos and gowns, to watch a private screening of "Finding Nemo," the fifth film from Pixar. . After the movie, they flocked to the Oakland Museum of Art for a celebration. There, John Lasseter, the director of "A Bug's Life" and the "Toy Story" movies, served wine to favored guests. . "Finding Nemo" may be Pixar's most important movie since "Toy Story," both at the box office and with its business partner, Walt Disney Co. Jobs, chief executive of Apple Computer Inc. as well as Pixar, hopes moviegoers will flock to the father-and-son-fish tale scheduled to open May 30. But for some, the real drama is whether Pixar will remain in partnership with Disney. . Under a marketing and distribution deal set to expire in 2005, Pixar splits movie profits equally with Disney. Jobs wants more and is renegotiating to keep as much as 90 percent of the profit. .

Thanks! I've been there and its disgusting, although my son and I amused ourselves with a "blunderpuss?" picking off the most blatant with cries of "Look out! There's another one! Bang!"

I'd hoped that the Miramax/Disney Michael Moore deal would give me good ammo to skip another annual pass at EisneyWorld but it sound like FReeperdom got Eisner to cave. Sigh.
