that, incidentally, is just the kind of cheap, liberal shot that Coulter would expect from a limp-wristed, European, communist rag like this one, as we shall soon discover Freedland finally recognizes his organisation.

I find it interesting that this left-wing void finds it necessary to consume 6,000 words telling us how wrong Ann Coulter is. One more thing the Right has going for it is that its pundits tend to be more succinct. Of course, the Left makes a much larger target.

Coulter reminds me, in her intensity and polemic, of a blonde 21st century Republican Ayn Rand. Brilliant, scathing and a weapon of mass destruction in dealing with the liberal enemy. The only way this could get any better is Ayn Rand had been born half a century later and was with us today. My God, the two would be the manliest men in the American intellectual pantheon.

...Eric Alterman, one of the sharpest writers on the American left...
You can hurt your eyes and read to the bottom, but that line is a show stopper. Alterman? Hahahahahahahaha!
What will the deranged leftist do when the OKC bombing is finally nailed on Islamics?

5665 words.
0% substance
100% whine

How sweet it is to read so much hand-wringing over a girl who can reduce liberals to a tiny, stinking kernel in one sentence.

When you see the left bitching like this, you know they're hurting.
Hey, the truth hurts...
(I'll be back later today to view the mandatory pictures that surely will be posted.)

Anyone notice that this diatribe was all ad homonym? Not one factual basis for the author's attack.

Jonathan Freedland confronts her and recognises a truth about the United States today: Bush isn't an aberration and Coulter expresses what many Americans think. N.S. Sherlock.

Man, this is messed up. He supposedly has an interview with the lady, and yet most of the article consists of published quotes by and about her.
It goes on and on and on, and one is still left with the impression that he didn't really talk to her. The only clue that a face-to-face interview really took place is the description of her cowboy boots. And for all I know, that's something he made up...

So Ann has a book coming out in June as well. A little competition for MZ. Hillary.
Go Ann Go!

I think without being "able" to say it, this stiff-necked Brit is smitten with Ann.
He sounds like he is trying so hard to make sure anyone who saw them together that he wasn't goo-goo over her.
To: IronJack
I get the sense that Freedlund is a fan of Coulter's. He wants to do a hatchet job but overall he lionizes her.

As she wrote in a now-notorious column that appeared on September 13 2001: "We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." Satire and self-parody no longer exist in the old country?
Hmmmmmm.
I do notice that quoting out of context is alive and well...
Oh well, I do know that when your target audience is the uneducated and the ignorant, this plays very well.

She sounds off about the Middle East plenty, but has never been there. She does the same about Islam, mocking those who describe it as a religion of peace. What is the source of her wisdom? It turns out she "had a Muslim boyfriend for a while". The source of her wisdom is that Islam advocates violence all over the world. You don't have to travel to the middle east to know that.

And how would Muslims travel? "They could use flying carpets," she says I love this girl.

Say "American conservative commentator" and what do you picture? A middle-aged guy in shirt and necktie, right? Speak of a "hardline Republican pundit" and what else comes to mind? Perhaps a big-mouth butterball like Rush Limbaugh? Or a Bible-bashing, burn-in-hell televangelist like Jerry Falwell? Or a gun-stroking, right-between-the-eyes cowboy à la Charlton Heston. Nobody can spew the stereotypes like a leftwinger, I guess. Butterball? Sheesh.
