As for your scenario about the middle easterners, I say call the local FBI. What the heck, the worst that can happen is that they just take down the info and say "thank you."

Peggy Noonan wrote a column some time ago about the very situation you are describing. I believe she ended up saying: Unfortunately, we should probably tell authorities when we see such a thing.

Agree with you Devil...let them make the decision whether it is something to be concerned...That's why we have the Alert Levels, to warn us to be more diligent and aware of suspicious behavior.
I can't tell you how much razzing I've gotten most of my life because I'm 1/2 Syrian, but since 9-11, boy has it gotten to the point that it's almost comical to me!
I have to keep telling people that I'm 3rd generation Ameriacan, 1/2 Italian and Roman Catholic tho I was baptized Melchite Catholic..Not Muslim and certainly not an EXTTEMIST. And I don't even look Arabic!

Regarding the middle easterners, I felt *very* uneasy. Then I felt really crappy for feeling uneasy, as if I was prejudiced.

So, I'm walking around looking out the corner of my eye at these two guys trying to take a mental picture. I sat down on a bench and took out a map that I always have when kicking around Chicago, cause I'm such a Chi-town tourist even though I was raised there. I formulated a plan....I was going to look at the map and be *very* obvious about looking at the map. Naturally, I thought a cop will be by momentarily since they're always around. I waited and waited and the MI guys walked away, south toward the fountain. I watched them for about 10 minutes.

This was at noon today and it has bothered me all day. I appreciate all of you giving me your suggestions. I think I need to give it to the feds and then maybe this foreboding feeling will lift itself off my back.
