Just read your post and I agree with you.

I just don't get it. The word "illegal" seems to have lost all meaning. They come in and wait for an amnesty and then when that is over the next crowd comes in and waits for their amnesty.

If I went out and threw a rock through someone's window I would be arrested for committing an illegal act,but people from other countries can commit an illegal act and be forgiven.

Madness!

In the event you were to commit such a crime, well, you could always claim your were 'rockless' i.e. the rock you had in your hand is no longer in your posession (it would be on the other side of the broken window), and you would be 'rockless'. Your status could be put in neutral, politically correct terms, so as to dismiss any culpability or responsibility for your actions.

Same goes for "undocumented."

"He just happened to be without his documents. Gee, must surely be somebody else's fault." /sarc

Shifting the responsibility of an act of crime (crossing over a national border in violation of US Federal statute sans legal authorization) is achieved by cleverly putting it into 'PC' terminology so as to wipe away any 'criminal' aspect, as if the "state of the person" (undocumented) is simply an inherent characteristic. Quite accidental. "UNDOCUMENTED". "He has no documents? No tiene papeles? Sorry, OK, never mind, case closed."

I think people stopped and found to be driving without their licenses should force the courts with the same thing to prove the point. "Gee, I was only "undocumented" at the time the officer stopped us. What's the big problem?!"

Easy to use passive verbs to separate the action (and thus the responsibility) from the person.

They are NOT "Undocumented". They are Illegal Lawbreakers. The fact that they are "undocumented" is merely a by-product of the crime they have committed which has rendered them in the state they are.

Shouldn't we admit people into LA Dodger games at the stadium gates, even though they don't have their tickets? After all, THEY TOO are simply "Undocumented!". Ridiculous.
