This isn't a college. It's a mental institution without the benefit of reputable psychiatrists.

"Wesleyan University"

I have to assume that this university has something to do with John Wesley, the founder of Methodism or the Methodist Church. And, if my assumption is correct, just how in the hell is any of this justified in the name of John Wesley.

If this is not outrageous then I'm missing something here.

I grew up Methodist before there was a United Methodist Church and drifted away over the years. In retrospect, I should have run like hell and not drifted. What a sad commentary this is on a formerly fine Christian institution.

Wesleyan University in Connecticut will in September inaugurate a “gender-blind” dormitory for incoming students who aren’t sure what sex they are, reports the Hartford Courant.

WTF? It's Pat!

Often, the publicity has been accompanied by criticism from the general public or alumni. Wesleyan spokesman Justin Harmon said he doesn't expect that kind of fallout in this case.

Shouldn't that be spokesperson, or gender-neutral speaker?

God's anointed saints (none exist on the earth right now) will soon recapture every inch of America that the devil has turned into an abomination.

I miss G. Gordon Liddy, and I should listen to him more on the net since he's not on our local channels any more.

As Liddy astutely points out, the correct term is SEX not GENDER. The genders in German. Russian, Latin and Greek for example are masculine, feminine and NEUTER! I believe Liddy also stated that some languages have as many as 7 genders. Gender is a grammatical term, you infernally politically correct newspeak idiots!

The rooms will be set aside for transgender students, described as those born with ambiguous genitalia or who don't identify with their physical sex.

What a bunch of idiots. Transgenderism has NOTHING to do with intersex disorders. Everyone is born with a gender just that some have syndromes affecting the development of their sex organs.

Students who opt for the floor will have roommates appointed without regard to their sex, perceived or otherwise. The rooms will be set aside for transgender students...

Yeah, I wanna room with the freaks! See how much studying gets done in the Porn Dorm.

"The new mission statement says freshmen who choose to live in the gender-blind area 'will be assigned a roommate without the consideration of gender.'"
This might make life interesting

Duing my son's first year in a dorm, he complained that his female visitors had to leave at 8PM, while Fred and Harold next door just cuddled up and went to sleep.

There are many documented cases of people with XXXY, etc. chromosomes - definitely confused gender. How common is probably not fully known.

Ambiguous Genitalia and Intersexuality

Excerpt:

Background: Intersex conditions are among the most fascinating conditions encountered by the clinician. The ability to diagnose infants born with intersex conditions has advanced rapidly in recent years. In most cases today, clinicians can promptly make an accurate diagnosis and counsel parents on therapeutic options. However, the paradigm of early gender assignment has been challenged by the results of clinical and basic science research, which show that gender identity development likely begins in utero. While the techniques of surgical genital reconstruction have been mastered, the understanding of the psychological and social implications of gender assignment is poor. This article focuses on newborn evaluation and the differential diagnosis in children with intersex conditions, including children with ambiguous genitalia.

Traditional intersex classifications

For convenience, intersex conditions traditionally have been divided into the following 5 simplified classifications based on the differentiation of the gonad:

Female pseudohermaphrodite - Two ovaries

Male pseudohermaphrodite - Two testes

True hermaphrodite - Ovary and/or testis and/or ovotestis

Mixed gonadal dysgenesis - Testis plus streak gonad

Pure gonadal dysgenesis - Bilateral streak gonads (A streak gonad is dysgenetic and resembles ovarian stromal tissue. No germ cells are present.)

The internal ducts and external genitalia may vary in development, since the presence of apparently male or female gonads does not necessarily correlate with the patient's gender identity.

Pathophysiology: Adequate comprehension of normal and abnormal sexual differentiation is essential to understanding intersex disorders. A summary of current knowledge regarding the embryology and classification of intersex states provides an appropriate introduction to the topic.
