The interesting thing is that the troll is too stupid to understand the message of this fine Rush tune. The "oaks" and "maples" in this song are english and french canadians. This was Neil Peart's way of telling the whiney french canucks to STFU.

For me, this song was able to crystallize the problem with affirmative action in my 15 year old brain, and started me down the road to being totally conservative. The song also turned me into a hard core Rush fan...

Exactly.

Someone seems to be missing the frying-pan-to-the-face-obvious analogy of the hatchet, axe and saw to governments' solution to unfairness being to make everyone equally miserable.

I'm sure Neil Peart would never agree to being called "conservative" in our sense of the word, but this is a clearly libertarian song, not a liberal one.
