Will someone explain how the stimulus in this package is supposed to work? How will this affect job creation? Don't get me wrong here because I think lower taxes are great but the last round of cuts didn't seem to do much. Why is this different?

The last round of cuts was so back-loaded as to not have any affect outside of the rebates.

Here is how it works:

It takes rich people to stimulate the economy. Period.

Take some time and think about it.
The government doesn't "invest money", rich people do.
Maybe you can get a job working for a rich person, maybe you can sell them something. It is the American way, Capitalism. Maybe you can get rich too!

So you let the rich people keep more money, what are they going to do with it, stuff it in a matress?
They invest it, start companies, expand, upgrade, MAKE JOBS!

At least that is how I see it, don't take my comments personally, I'm just throwing it out there to chew on.
All the Best

It's different because it lasts until Bush's term expires. The stock dividend cut expires in 2005. The capital gains cut expires in 2006. By then everybody will be so prosperous they will be able to pay more taxes. Of course, these accommodations were made to get some Democrats on board. The Fed is floating enough credit and the dollar is cheapening enough to make anything but a temporary blip on the tax cut radar.

The last round of tax cuts was phased; most of it hasn't even gone into effect yet. This current tax cut combines more cuts with speeding up the last round of cuts. Rather, it's supposed to.
