Anyone, what is the limit in carbs. starting out? Can I use those prepacked salads? I looked at Atkins years ago and do not remember much about it. This week we had a death in the family and I had to go out and buy a black dress because mothing I had fit. Both the death and nothing that fit were a wake up call. Is there a web site anywhere that can get me started until I can get the Atkins book for more info.? Thanks!

Your limit during the induction phase is 20 grams a day, vs the 300 grams recommended by the Archer Daniels Midland Food Pyramid (tm). After a couple of weeks at this level, you start adding back 5 grams of carbs a day each week until you stop losing weight. Then, just jump back below that level a bit until you reach your goal weight, and use that level as a dietary target from then on.

I'm sure it's not sufficient in itself, but the most concise statement I've seen anywhere is at this site. I've invited more knowledgeable/experienced types here to evaluate it, but haven't heard anything yet.
