Nike is a lot of things, stupid isn't on that list. I'd bet 90% of that contract (by volume) is outs for Nike. I'm sure there's perfomance clases, morals clauses, criticism clauses, press relations clauses, court time clauses, competing product clauses. There's very little chance LeBron will see more than a quarter of that money before crossing over some line and voiding the contract.

Great! Maybe the Cavs can re-live the glory years of the late 80's and early 90's only this time THEY'LL have the superstar.

How many tattoos does he have already? Generally speaking, the amount is in inverse proportion to common sense.

See: Mike Tyson, Allen Iverson, Dennis Rodman...

A lots of these guys that were labelled "renegade" in College have become mainstream and solid solid citizens in later life. (Not unlike a lot of the general population). Examples that come to mind are Dawkins as you point out, Sidney Green of UNLV and Pearl Washington of Syracuse.

I was unconvinced that Kobe, McGrady and Tim Thomas had what it took. I got 2 out of those three wrong.

I was just going to say the same thing -- The kid is from Ohio and Cleveland wins the lottery? Give me a break! The odds of that happening don't seem very high!

They showed LeBron entering a MASSIVE "Draft Lottery Party."

Meanwhile, Carmelo was sitting at home watching the lottery with his parents.

Cleveland and Denver, by having the worst record (tie) both had the best odds (roughly 1 in 4) chance of coming up on top

Cleveland is a "small market" if it was fixed he'd be going to bug city like Chicago or NY or the LA Clippers

The Memphis Grizzlies got the second selection for the June 26 draft, but that goes to Detroit.
WOO HOO!!!!!!!

Adding Carmelo to the Pistons makes them the team to beat (in the East anyways)

ESPN thinks it'll be either Carmelo Anthony or Darko Milicic, a 7-0 power forward.

I'd rather take Carmelo. I've never seen Milicic play, but Carmelo has a National title. I saw him beat us(Michigan State Spartans) earlier this year, as well as in the NCAA finals.

I think he may be a Grant Hill.(hopefully without the injuries).

The Cavs need a good break for a change. From the days of lstening on WWE am 110 in Cleveland to Pete Franklin, I became a Cavs fan.

(Bingo Smith, Campy Russell, Jim Chones, Nate Thurmond,"Foots" Walker, Austin Carr, Jim Cleamons and coached by Bill Fitch) to being owned by Ted Stepien (T.S. (Too Stupid) as Pete Franklin referred to him as. (T.S. made just dumb trades the NBA, had to approve the trades after a while. I believe T.S. even traded the draft rights which became James Worthy and Magic Johnson.)Franklin even began referring to the team as the Cadavers !! (If you never had the opportunity to listen to Pete Franklin, you missed a treat. Imagine Michael Savage with an attitude !! He was great !!)

I'm thrilled the Cavs have the opportunity to pick a potentially great player. I just hope he isn't a Len Bias or LaRue Martin.

GO CAVS !!!

I always liked "Chocolate Thunder!" Remember all those backboards he would shatter! As for LeBron, he will stay in Cleveland until free agent eligibility and then he's gone. Cleveland won't be able to afford him. In the meantime no legitimate center so the Cav's will go nowhere even with the phenom. IMHO

Excuse me, what about the guy that went to the All Star Game last year from the Cavaliers, Center Zadrunus Ilgaskus or as we call him Z.

I think we're one, maybe two players away from the finals.

This team reminds me of the mid 80's Pistons teams that kepts losing to the Celtics. Almost there, but not quite.

"I agree. I don't wish ill will upon anyone, but Len Bias did come to mind when I first saw this kid."

Len Bias spoke at my elementary school. What ever happened to him? I totally forgot about him after all this time.

Died of a coke OD the night he was drafted.

LeBron sounded centered in his press conference, hopefully that was for real.
