As deist, I subscribe to no organized religion, but can clearly see the moral difference between the two. At the very least, even "moderate" Muslims are mysoginists and treat their women as second class citizens and property. That is an abomination in my eyes and to humanity in general.

Nope. Not racist. The people judging this crime to be so horrendous, while ignoring the myriad other horrors committed by Christians are the ones who I felt were racist. But I was wrong - it's the faith that's attacked here, not race.

Whoa! if you're a deist, than we have more in common than you think. And I completely agree with the rest of your post, as the Islamists desparately need a Reformation to occur that will usher them into the modern world of treating women like equal human beings.

Those are good points, but I didn't see in the article where the entire Islamic society encouraged this bestial act. Even the hospital report fails to mention any inuries due to the rape...."A preliminary medical report from that hospital stated that she had suffered a fractured right arm, multiple burns, and bruises and lacerations to her face and body". Regardless, it was a horrid act that is actually deserving (IMO) of a punishment far-worse than our lax judicial system would warrant.



When Christians encourage crimes such as this, I will condemn them too. We throw rapists in jail every day; that's a very important difference between the moral equivalency of the two religions. In one it is a detestable crime regardless of the victim's faith; in the other a mitigating factor that may absolve the perpetrator of any guilt. Is that OK with you?


It's absolutely NOT "ok with" me. I've no idea where you got the notion that it was. My only point in all this was the lack of moral outrage at similar crimes committed by so-called "Christians". The Texas mom bludgeons her kids to death because "God told her they were Satan" (or some such nonsense)...the Christian reaction is rather muted.

My disgust re:Islam can be seen in a post 40 above. It's an awful, antiquated faith that needs to Reform or disappear. I just wish people would hold all rapists and child molesters in such contempt, regardless of faith. If it were up to me, any violent crime against a child by an adult would be quickly punished by death. I've no forgiveness for these sorts of people.

It's not Christianity that's letting them out on a "technicality." It's a secular legal system, dominated now by liberal social engineers, who sneer at the concept of morality.

The point I was making about the hypocrisy and lack of moral outrage over similar "Christian" crimes (Texas moms who kill their kids because "God told 'em to", Liz Smart being kidnapped and raped because that jackass drifter thought "God told him to take her as a wife", etc.) was so lost on some of the people here that I gave up.

Apparently for some, Christians literally can't commit a crime because, if they do, they're suddenly "not Christian", leaving Christianity with only perfect, sin & crime-free members.
