Talking about the Duke, does anyone here remember the movie, I think it was released in the 1950's - "The High and the Mighty" where Wayne was the captian on an airliner that developed trouble on a filght to Hawaii?

High and the Mighty was the forerunner of all the "Airport" movies.

I never see that film mentioned anymore, but I remember the ending very well. I would love to have a copy of that film.

I saw it long ago. I am not certain, but I think I recall reading it had some copyright thing that precluded a video or additional airings. Again, I'm not certain about that.

I remember 'The High and the Mighty'.....saw it when I was a very young girl, but I also remember the ending...

And I remember the song, that was whistled at the end...

That is actually one of my favorite John Wayne movies...
