Oh, Oh, should we watch out for the ancient Greek juggernaut?

I first read Hanson 10 years ago when I got a first edition of The Other Greeks out of a remainder bin for $4. I always check the remainder bins, since I figure if the average American reader( female, leftist ) won't buy it, it might be good.

Yeah right if America was a warrior society all the limp wrists of our elite both left and right would be wetting their britches. Katie Couric and Jonah Goldberg would be clutching the other and hoping the rubes in flyover country would be pacified and leave NYC standing.

I am by no means a Greek scholar, but if we are following the successful Greek path, then why are the Greeks not in charge right now?

The current global influence of Greece is the revenue made from "my big fat greek wedding" (which stank btw).

I am not being facetous -- I really want to know.

"Love your screen name! LOL!"

Thank you for the compliment but I must warn you that even such flattery and your winsome good looks Miss Marple will not get you added to Michael Anthony's list.

Mr. Anthony is no longer in my service. He said he was bored giving all those millions to worthy people such as you, Miss Marple. Instead he has hooked up with that young scamp, Dick Clark, and has joined his Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol.

So though you might keep looking down you driveway for Mr. Anthony, he will no longer be coming here to Silverstone on his way to find his "next millionaire".

On many occasions I was able to summon Michael Anthony to come to my palatial estate, Silverstone, to receive his next assignment. Unfortunately, his scoundrel of a cousin, Mordred "Tex" Anthony had me mortgage Silverstone and invest in Enron. I am now trying to get handouts from all those very same millionaires that I created, but because I did it anonymously, they think I'm a con man and slam the door in my face.

Now it's "the old dog for the hard road."

Juggernaut is a word from India. If you want a word from the ancient Greek, try tyrrany. [And ancient Greece had a number of them.]

''Maybe,'' he suggests over lunch at a Mexican restaurant near Fresno, ''the war was so surgical and quick that the Iraqis don't really think that they lost.''

I agree with him, I don't like surgical wars at all. For the enemy to take deeply into his psyche the threat of annihilation and the realization of the meaning of defeat, copious amounts of blood must be seen in the streets.

PC wars are a waste of time, as can be witnessed by the demonstrations in Iraqi streets against our presence.

So far, being defeated by the USofA has been a real good deal for them in which they can demand we exit after we better their quality of life via running water, electricity, and aid; while hanging onto their desire to some day defeat us.

This is yet another reason the demands of the U.N. makes us weak and vulnerable, and gives more evidence as to the good reasons to remove ourselves from this body of pirates.

As to Hanson's fear for his childrens education, I would think he would have more cause to worry that they attend college than not. I have learned my lessons despite college rather than because of it. As long as the desire to "know" and to "reason" is implanted in them, along with a deep longing for truth, and the respect for logic, he needs fear nothing for their future.

--I read every word Hansen gets printed. Can't help but admire his eight classes a year schedule--we Nevada taxpayers have just been informed that many "professors" at UNLV-the academic joke of the Western US- don't even teach a full three as has been claimed--
