Back in the 70's it was known as 'Fishnet "74"'...

If you are a believer you owe it to yourself to go to one of these.

I'm a vintage Jesus Freek who well remembers the passion, excitement, and energy of those days. Writer David Chilton describes very well what happened next. Sabatoged by the apocalyptic ravings of false teachers such as Hal Lindsey, the movement lost its bearings, and petered out into an aimless drifting from one "Jesus festival" to another."

Jim Lafoon, a profit in my denomination Morningstar International was there too. He also saw the vast opportunity squandered. His prayer since then has been, "O God, do it again, and this time we'll know what to do."

How about that!
My Daddy was born and reared in Bells, Texas and used to preach at the Calvary Baptist Church there. Many of the Burnetts, including Daddy's mother and father, are buried in the cemetery in Bells. I went to school there in the '60's.

I hope that many are brought to Christ through this work.

"Sabatoged by the apocalyptic ravings of false teachers"

"So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it" (Isaiah 55:11).

The seed falls on stony ground, thorny ground, by the wayside... but some falls on good fertile soil. I found the fishnet happenings to be alot of fun in small quantities. It was easy to overlook the vendors hawking jesus stuff because thats not what I was there for. I went lookin for something and I got it. I was there when Keith Green was playing, now THAT guy was a prophet as I recall a prophet to be. He looked at the church and mourned because of the sad state of affairs.

But it's not all gloom, seeds were planted and so long as seeds continue to be planted they will grow.
