Nine years after his barbaric murder, at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, the Scots, led by King Robert the Bruce, defeated the English army of Edward II, and so secured that Independence which had made Wallace a martyr.

The "sheath" has always been stronger than the sword...in the long run.

It was Kiev the program referenced. My mistake.

Russian history is fascinating to say the least.

Most starvation in or around front. My father and family evacuated from eastern Ukraine, had enough to eat. I have accounts of family members and friends of family who were there.

Russia had starvation even before WWII. The war only made it worse since the resources of the entire society had to be mobilized for war. 5-6 million people dying over 6 years within a total population of 150 million is totally plausible.

The Germanic small elite was absorbed by every other country. Did they have a theory as to why England speaks a Germanic language and maintained a Anglo-Saxon culture?

It wasn't a "small" elite in England.

If the reverse comes a few hundred years later then clearly, it is another war. But if we are talking about non-stop warfare that lasts for decades on end, then its just a general series of wars.

Soviet Union had man made famine to destroy Kullaks...aka independent farmers...social class struggle created by Soviets. Many things plausable, aliens landing in Area 51 plausable...does that make reality?

Welcome aboard.

You seem to be pretty familiar with the Khazars?

What is your view on the question of how many of them had converted to Judaism?

I've always found that to be a really interesting little known facet of history and one that sure sparks debate. Most scholars agree that at a minimum the gentry converted and contributed to arguable degrees to the Ashkhenazim identity.

Peace was signed, Scottish independence given. War ended. If another war starts year later, then other war. You not talk of wars, you talk of national struggles...different thing.

As far as I know for fact, nobility converted, think most did...but conquered peoples didn't. Kazars conquered in 11th centuary by Kieven Russ.

But there is a difference between organized warfare with hundred of thousands of people (E.G Korean war) and disorganized warfare with individuals carrying out the actions(E.G Most of Vietnam war except for Tet and the final invasion). If sporadic bombings and sniping carried out by individuals can be called a war, then you might as well call the current violence in Israel a war, since people are shooting at each other.

1896 AD Sino-Japanese War-Lost Japan crushed China's fleet and took over Korea.

1900 AD Boxer Rebellion-Lost , Japan takes Taiwan, Britain, France, Belgium, Spain divides Shanghai and the eastern coast, Germany takes Dalian, Russia takes portions of Manchuria.

Correction. Taiwan was ceeded in perpetuity (forever) to Japan in 1895 as part of the Treaty of Shimonoseki which also granted Korea independance from China.

So what about the low intensity violence between various gangs in NYC, would you call that a war too?
