I'm almost sure cars are not in Islamic law. Saudi Arabia prohibits it. They certainly drive them over here. I see them all the time.

Cars may not be in Islamic law, but they may be in shar'ia law. IIRC, and I may be wrong here, shar'ia law is developed throughout time in response to the needs of society. So any given country's shar'ia law may be different from Koranic law, and from the shar'ia law of another Muslim country. If anyone knows differently, please correct me.
