Well, many did, but when I was there, (80 to 84) I thought, for the most part, they were still pretty much a bunch of pagans, but that is just my opinion.

They did, and as the EU was the idea of the Man from Linz, perhaps it represents Germany's final victory.

They did. The eastern part of that country made a tenacious attempt at denying the existence of any god between '45 and '89. It seems like some never learn.
