the non issue should be the homosexual lifestyle is wrong and should be taught to children as an undesireable lifestyle choice. The non-issue must be that children must be taught homosexuality is wrong.
If the repubs loose the Christian Right, then they loose their base. Probably 30-40% repubs go to church and pray before meals. They won't vote for some compromise party for a tax cut. Their beliefs mean something to them.
On the other hand, Bush could slap a homo at the convention and loose about 100 votes.
