It never occurred to Sulzberger, that in reducing reality to the conflicting "visions" of irreconcilable groups, he was denying the possibility of objective truth, and thus of journalism.

Denying objective truths are the hallmark of all of modern liberalism. Its end result is despotism then failure.

I don't know about "liberalism" (don't really know that is), but that's certainly true of socialism.

Agreed as it becomes a matter of the power of existing authority , i.e. the elite's authority by virtue of their supposedly keen intellect.

I have come to the conclusion and especially after seeing so many US institutions denigrated, that we are at war (Culture War) starting election eve 2000.
